
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones 13 February 1942 - September 3 March 3, 2019) was an American actress. Her most famous work is for her role in the movies Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by an Irish mother and New England father. Her first job was as a child model , before taking up acting. She won the Theatre World Award as "one of the most promising actors in 1956-57" for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley began her film career in the year 1958 by appearing in her debut in the Disney film The Light in the Forest. She was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959), and Blue Denim (1959). For her film The Light in the Forest Lynley received a nomination in 1959 for the Golden Globe Award. A year later, she was nominated again for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female.
